Jo and Jon have been married for 35 years. This is beautiful. I was the lucky duck who got the email from Jo wanting to commemorate this special anniversary with a photoshoot. And not just of the two of them, but of their faithful little camper that has taken them on many adventures during their retirement.

Jo and Jon go on adventures! They laugh. They smile. They snuggle! They love vintage and travel and art! I want to be them when I grow up! Jo told me, “Feel free to go as artsy as you want! We’re game for anything!” She brought her original (BEAUTIFUL) wedding dress and their toasting glasses from the big day.

So let’s see, a photoshoot involving a vintage camper and a solid marriage? YES PLEASE!

You all know of my love for vintage things, but I’d like to take a minute to talk about my LOVE for marriage. I believe marriage (when done right) is the BEST thing ever. It can be almost supernatural how good it is. I love it. I love to learn about. I love to read about it. (Some favorites are “, “Redeeming Love”, “The Five Love Languages”, “The Love Dare”, “The Power of a Praying Wife”, “Sacred Marriage: What If God Designed Marriage to Make Us Holy More Than to Make Us Happy”.) I love movies that feature great marriages like The Young Victoria, Julie & Julia, I even loved Fireproof (Although I didn’t say the acting/producing/directing was good…but the message is awesome.)

That being said, I LOVE MY JOB! I get to watch people get married…like…EVERY week. I get to hear sermons about marriage ALL THE TIME , and be reminded of the vows that I took myself almost 4 years ago. I frickin LOVE it.

That is why this shoot is one of my favorite things EVER. Enjoy!
