becky & matt: a pride and prejudice wedding

This was such a beautiful day. The theme of Pride and Prejudice was weaved throughout this fairytale wedding. Everything from the music (the movie soundtrack), the ceremony site (under a big old oak tree), the reception site (a castle!!!) down to the tiny details: tea, lace gloves, old pocket-watches, and jane austen novels stacked throughout the tables. The bride even made her cake topper (the two birds in a nest) out of pages from the novel. (In fact it’s from the chapter where Mr. Darcy proposes!) Enjoy!!

The Bride designed and illustrated this book for the flowergirl and ringbearer.

hi katie! my great friend betty started talking about your pictures a while ago, and since she has perfect taste in [almost] everything, i had to follow your blog. you are such an artist! it’s awesome how well you capture the personality and charm in each day. i am o-fficially a fan 🙂

as a side note, betty may have a wedding to photograph sometime relatively soon. do you have any suggestions for a tag-along assistant? what kind of things help you the most on big occasions like that?

@Cassie- Becky wrote and illustrated a book in order to ask the flower girl and ring bearer to play a part in the wedding. Becky and Matt (the princess and prince) fall under an evil spell and it’s up to the children to save the day! It was really precious, and she’s a very talented artist.
