Lacy’s Camping Themed Baby Shower Brunch with Donut Bar

I married into THE world’s most creative family. Jared’s sisters and momma have some serious style, so throwing a baby shower with them is a dream. Lacy & Dustin love camping in the great outdoors, so we decided to bring that theme to life for this woodsy, camping baby shower. Lacy’s biggest pregnancy craving has been St. George’s donuts, so putting together a donut bar was an idea that everyone (especially this preggo) could definitely get behind! We also made the guests cut and paste together Dustin and Lacy’s baby photos to predict what they’re future child would look like. Lacy chose the winner of the creepiest as well as the cutest. Though personally, I think they all tied for creepy. And since they are not finding out gender, we forced Lacy into one of the old classic gender prediction games which resulted in the fact that Lacy is DEFINITELY having either a boy or a girl. (The ring both swung and circled, I don’t know what to tell you…twins?)

Just in case you missed their maternity photos (aka my favorite maternity session of all time!!!) make sure you click here too!

Shameless husband plug: He built that rocking horse for his sister. With his bare hands. Well and tools, probably.

Daytrippers: Milsap Farms Thursday Night Pizza

Jared and I were talking the other day about our idea of a perfect evening. I said “I really just want to eat outside under twinkly lights and listen to live music. That’s the perfect dream.” Well I’m happy to report that you could have that dream evening every Thursday night at Milsap Farms in north Springfield, MO. My beautiful twin friends, Michelle & Jenn decided to turn last night at Milsap into their birthday party and it was magical. For $10 per adult, the family-owned farm grows the ingredients, rolls the dough right in front of you and bakes it in the giant ovens they also built themselves. I woke up dreaming about the Garlic Aioli Kale Pizza. They also had a bleu cheese and blueberry pizza…are you kidding? It was all you-can-eat. Challenge accepted. Callie said “I don’t want to leave, Mom. I just want to live here forever.” Me too, Cal. Me too.

Amazement. You are brilliant. Thanks katie and so blessed to call you friend.

Daytrippers: Crystal Bridges Art Museum, Bentonville, AR

I can’t say enough good things about Crystal Bridges. It’s only two hours from Springfield, Mo and breathtakingly beautiful. We went there first in the wintertime and loved it so much we HAD to come back. And with FREE admission, it makes for a pretty cheap day of all-day fun! When I found out my favorite-bride-of-all-time was bringing her baby home to Arkansas from LA, it became the perfect to halfway place to meet her new little Maggie. Also, Callie loved having the undivided attention of Tara’s entire family. Ha!

Emily & Neal Brooks : A rainy outdoor wedding

There is simply no couple as happily go-with-the-flow and laid back as Emily & Neal. “We’re going to have the reception first.” “Oh it’s raining? We’ll just grab some umbrellas” . And after Emily got married outside in the pouring rain, she says “That could not have been more perfect. It was PERFECT.” Anyway, I love this couple. I love that Emily wore two dresses. (The second was her mother’s). I love that her family made all of the food. I LOVE THAT THE ENTIRE GROOMS PARTY SURPRISED HER WITH AN ORIGINAL SONG! I just love it all. Congrats Brooks!!
